Bajaj Auto faced a rocky start when it launched the Chetak in 2020, with slow progress compounded by the pandemic. However, the Indian two-wheeler giant has made a strong comeback, emerging as one of the top three electric scooters in the country. In October, the Chetak surged ahead of the TVS iQube, securing the second position. Riding this wave of success, Bajaj is all set to unveil the 2025 Chetak on December 20. Here are the key updates we know so far.

2025 Bajaj Chetak: New chassis

The Chetak has fairly limited storage space as compared to the iQube and the popular Ather Rizta. The new architecture is expected to make the electric scooter lighter and offer additional under-seat luggage capacity. The chassis is expected to help the company push the battery underneath the floorboard and increase cargo area.

2025 Bajaj Chetak: More range

In addition to addressing the Chetak’s weight-related concerns, Bajaj is expected to update the scooter’s battery pack. Currently, the current Chetak model has two battery options: 2.88 kWh and 3.2 kWh. The company also offers an optional TecPac across all variants, which adds features like a Sport ride mode and a colour TFT instrument panel. The updated battery is expected to provide an improved range, building on the current models’ performance of 123 km and 137 km, depending on the variant.

2025 Bajaj Chetak: Design

Bajaj will introduce some minor updates to the design and will retain the stylish looks. The company will focus on making the scooter more practical in terms of space, which has done wonders for Ather Energy by launching the family scooter, Rizta. The new Chetak will offer new colours.

The new Bajaj Chetak will be officially unveiled on December 20, with bookings likely to open at the same time. Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2025.
