The wait is over and Husqvarna has launched the Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 401 in India, priced at Rs 2.19 lakh and Rs 2.92 lakh respectively, ex-showroom. The Vitpilen 250 is a roadster while the Svartpilen is a scrambler, and although the two motorcycles feature different designs, they share a lot in common.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 250
Starting with the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, the roadster features a round headlight, clip-on bars, minimal bodywork, and offers a slightly forward set riding position. The motorcycle gets 43mm USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, 17-inch wheels, and a 5-inch LCD instrument console.
Powering the Vitpilen 250 is a 249cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 30bhp and 25Nm of torque. This is the same LC4 engine that does its duty in the KTM 250 Duke. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter. On the electronics front, the motorcycle gets ABS modes, traction control, ride-by-wire, and a type C charging port.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401
The Svartpilen 401 is a scrambler that features a similar design to the road-focused Vitpilen but gets a taller handlebar, giving the rider an upright seating position. That siad, the Svartpilen stand out from the Vitpilen with knobby tyres, spoke, wheels, and a tiny visor above the headlight. Similar to its 250cc sibling, the Svartpilen 401 gets 43mm USD forks, but are adjustable . Other equipment consists of a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, and a 5-inch TFT display.
Power is derived from a larger 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 45bhp and 39Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. On the electronics front, it gets the same suite as the Vitpilen 250, however, Husqvarna offers optional external Bluetooth connectivity.
