Hero MotoCorp will be launching a scrambler version of the Mavrick 440 soon, as the design pattern images have surfaced. The Hero Mavrick 440 scrambler will be based on the Mavrick 440 currently sold in the market but with a few changes to its bodywork and cycling parts. Here’s a closer look.
Hero Mavrick 440 scrambler — What’s different?
As mentioned earlier, the Hero Mavrick 440 scrambler will be based on the current Mavrick, however, there seem to be considerable changes. The first is the handlebar with a cross brace, which is expected to be taller than the current setup and the forks — they are telescopic units but get gaiters on them. The scrambler version of the Mavrick also gets a small windshield.
Other noticeable differences are a new alloy wheel design, new side panels, a flatter seat, and hopefully long-travel suspension compared to the stock Mavrick on sale now. Hero will also have a long list of accessories to go with the new motorcycle.
Hero Mavrick 440 scrambler — Engine specifications and competition
The scrambler based on the Mavrick will be powered by the same 440cc engine that does its duty on the Mavrick and the Harley-Davidson X440. The single-cylinder air and oil-cooled unit will make 26bhp and 36Nm of torque with the help of a six-speed gearbox. Hero could tweak the ratios a bit, but there is no confirmation about it.
Expected to be showcased at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo followed by the price announcement, the Mavrick 440 scrambler will compete with the Yezdi Scrambler, triumph Scrambler 400X, and the upcoming Triumph Scrambler T4, which was seen testing.
