Behind the Scenes: Ola Kicks off production of the Roadster X

Ola Electric has officially confirmed that production of the Roadster X has begun. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, shared images on social media showing the electric motorcycle being assembled at the company’s manufacturing facility. Aggarwal had previously posted a video of him taking the Roadster X for a quick spin.

Sneak Peek at the Ola Roadster X

Apart from the sharing the latest update on its electric motorcycle, Ola Electric has put the spotlight on the women technicians and engineers working behind the scenes to bring the Roadster X to life. From the images, we can see that the electric motorcycle features a double-down tube chassis, with the battery positioned where a traditional fuel tank and internal combustion engine would normally sit. In terms of hardware, the Roadster X is equipped with upside-down front forks, double coil rear suspension, a traditional chain and sprocket drive, and a combination of front disc and rear drum brakes. 

Ola Roadster Motorcycles: What to Expect?

Ola Electric unveiled its much-anticipated Roadster lineup last year, revealing three variants: Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro, with prices ranging from Rs 75,000 to Rs 2.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Roadster X comes with three battery pack options, starting with a 2.5 kWh, followed by a 3.5 kWh version, and topping out at 4.5 kWh for the highest-spec model. Ola claims that the Roadster X’s range-topping variant can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 2.8 seconds, offer a range of 200 km on a full charge, and reach a top speed of 124 kmph. These are the prices that Ola Electric showcased last year. 

The mid-spec Roadster is priced from Rs 1.04 lakh, ex-showroom and also comes with three battery pack options. According to Ola, the top-spec variant delivers a top speed of 126 kmph and a range of 248 km.

The range-topping Roadster Pro is priced from Rs 1.99 lakh, ex-showroom and comes with two battery pack options. The top variant can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 1.2 seconds, reach a top speed of 194 kmph, and offers an range of 579 km, according to Ola Electric.
