Ather Energy launched its new-gen electric scooter Rizta a month ago, and now the Bengaluru-based EV startup has started manufacturing the same. This was confirmed in a recent social media post shared by Tarun Mehta, Co-founder & CEO, Ather Energy. The first unit of Rizta has rolled out from Ather’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Prices of Rizta start at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Rizta opened digitally on 29 March at a token amount of Rs 999. Deliveries of the new family e-scooter are expected to start July onwards. Ather is offering two trims of Rizta– Rizta S and Rizta Z, the latter offered in variants priced at Rs 1.24 lakh and Rs 1.44 lakh ( both ex-showroom).

Rizta S comes exclusively with a 2.9kWh battery, whereas the Rizta Z with a 2.9 kWh battery and a larger 3.7 kWh unit option. The 2.9 kWh variants will deliver a predicted IDC range of 123 km and the 3.7 kWh variant will deliver 160 km. While Ather offers the Rizta S in 3 monotone colours, the Rizta Z will be available in 7 colours which include 3 monotone and 4 dual tone colours.
Although Ather is yet to reveal the exact motor specs of the Rizta, all variants can clock a top speed of 80 kmph. There are two ride modes on offer– Zip and SmartEco. Further, ride assist features such as MagicTwistTM, AutoHoldTM, and Reverse Mode, which were integrated in the 450 series are also present in the Rizta.
The top-spec Rizta Z with 3.7kWh battery comes with a 700W new Ather Duo charger. Rizta owners will also have access to Ather’s comprehensive fast-charging network, with 1800+ fast charging points.

The biggest highlight of the Rizta is its space, both for the on boarders as well as storage. It gets a combined luggage space of 56 litres with a 34-litre underseat storage and a 22-litre frunk. Further, the entire underseat storage can be lifted as a single bag for added convenience. As previously teased by Ather, the Rizta gets the largest single piece seat on offer in any two-wheeler in India offering more than ample room for the rider and the pillion.
