Ather Energy recently announced that it has sold over 1 lakh units of the Rizta ever since it was launched a little over a year ago. Celebrating the momentous occasion, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup has added a new variant of the Rizta to the lineup.
Ather Rizta S: What’s new?
Based on the lower-spec Rizta S, the new variant now gets the larger 3.7 kWh battery from the top-spec Z trim. The new Rizta S with 3.7 kWh battery returns a range of 159 km and carries a price tag of Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new variant is designed for buyers who wish for more range but don’t desire the bells and whistles of the top-spec Z trim.
Place | Ather Rizta S (3.7 kWh) ex-showroom price |
Delhi | Rs 137,047 |
Mumbai | Rs 137,258 |
Bengaluru | Rs 137,999 |
Chennai | Rs 139,312 |
That said, the Rizta S comes equipped with a decent amount of features including a 7-inch DeepView LCD display, auto hold, emergency stop signal, OTA updates, tow & theft alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, Alexa voice commands, find my scooter, and Ather’s fall safe feature. Moreover, the Rizta offers the largest underseat storage of 34 litres for any scooter in India. In addition, there are 22 litres of space available in the frunk.
All buyers of the Ather Rizta S 3.7 kWh variant will continue to get the wide seat and access to over 3900 Ather Grid fast-charging points across India. For home charging, the variant includes Ather’s efficient charging solution, ensuring convenient overnight charging for daily use.
The new variant also offers Ather’s ‘Eight70’ battery warranty program (8 years or 80,000 km), available with the Pro Pack. It also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates for added convenience and performance enhancements. It guarantees a minimum 70% battery health over the ownership period.
Performance of the new Rizta S with 3.7 kWh battery remains unchanged with a top speed of 80 kmph. Bookings for the Rizta S equipped with the 3.7kWh battery pack are now open nationwide via Ather’s retail network and official online platform. Deliveries are scheduled to begin later this month, as the company ramps up production to meet the expected demand.
