After making its debut at EICMA 2024 in Milan last November, Aprilia has finally launched the Tuono 457 in India at a price of Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom), thus, undercutting its fully-faired sibling— RS 457 — by Rs 25,000. Bookings for the Tuono 457 begin today. Interested buyers can book the same via the official Aprilia India website at a token amount of Rs 12,000.

Test rides and deliveries of the naked streetfighter are slated to commence next month onwards. The middleweight street naked motorcycle was launched in Bangalore in the presence of Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd along with Aprilia India brand ambassador and Bollywood actor John Abraham.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Design

The Tuono 457 distinguishes itself from its larger Tuono siblings with a unique design approach. Unlike the semi-faired Tuono 660, the Tuono 457 adopts a pure streetfighter look, shedding the quarter-fairing around the tank and headlamp for a more aggressive stance. The motorcycle gets a flat handlebar instead of clip-ons, giving the rider a more relaxed position on the bike

Extended tank shrouds accentuate its muscular build, while a striking twin LED headlamp—evoking the gaze of a giant mantis—enhances its fierce aesthetic. Other standout features include split seats, a floating tail section, and an underbelly exhaust. The Tuono 457 will be available in two colour choices: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Features

The Italian bike manufacturer has kitted the Tuono 457 with features such as LED headlamps and taillamps, a backlit switchgear, and 5-inch TFT fully-digital instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity for call and text alerts along with voice assistant and music playback, navigation functionality via Aprilia India application, and much more.

Besides convenience, Aprilia is also offering electronic rider aids such as traction control, a ride-by-wire throttle, three ride modes: Eco, Sport, and Rain; and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Hardware

As mentioned earlier, Tuono 457 is based on the same platform as the Aprilia RS457 — a twin-spar aluminium frame. This chassis is suspended on 41mm upside-down front forks with 120mm of travel, and a rear mono-shock with 130mm of travel. Braking duties are carried out by 320mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes aided by a dual-channel ABS. The street naked bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels which are wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres.

Aprilia Tuono 457: Powertrain

Powering the Tuono 457 is the same 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which propels the RS 457. This motor pushes out 46.9 bhp and 43.5 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
