While 2024 was the year of sub-500cc motorcycles, 2025 seems to be the year of adventure motorcycles. KTM, BMW, Hero MotoCorp, TVS and others are set to showcase or launch adventure bikes, some that have seen an update and some new. However, there are big displacement adventure bikes as well at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo and here are two interesting ones to watch out for.
BMW R 1300 GS Adventure

BMW completely revamped the GS, giving it a new 1300cc power plant. We rode the new R 1300 HS last year, and later, BMW introduced the GS Adventure, which gets all the updates the 1300 GS gets, along with a new AMT gearbox. At the upcoming Expo, BMW is expected to showcase the motorcycle and announce the prices as well.
The new BMW R 1300 GSA stands taller than the GS with more suspension travel and gets all the bells and whistles such as heated grips, traction control, full integral braking system, lean-sensitive ABS, adaptive ride height, and much more. The engine makes a healthy 145bhp and 149Nm of torque. The motorcycle also gets a larger 30-litre fuel tank compared to the GS’ 19-litre tank.
Yamaha Tenere 700

The Tenere 700 has been spoken about a lot and has also become a favourite amongst adventure riders globally. Featuring a simple design with capable suspension and not too much electronics, the Tenere 700 is something enthusiasts here are waiting for as well. With Yamaha planning to bring the larger 900cc and 700cc machines to India, the company is highly likely to showcase the Tenere 700 at the Expo.
Globally, the Yamaha Tenere 700 is available in several versions, and for India, Yamaha is yet to confirm which variant will be sold. The Yamaha Tenere 700 is powered by a 689cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that makes 72bhp and 68Nm of torque with the help of a 6-speed gearbox. If Yamaha prices the Tenere 700 right, it can become a popular pick here.
