Marc Marquez and Ducati are looking like a match made in heaven. His blistering pace in testing translated to a dominant performance in the Sprint Race, where he took the checkered flag 1.185 seconds ahead of his brother Alex. To top it off, Marquez also secured pole position.

What Marc Marquez wanted to do, pretty much achieved it at ease. The Spaniard was on a different level and no one could come close to him. After winning the Sprint Race, Marquez called it the ‘perfect Saturday’, but let others know that he was just getting started as he had some margin to explore on the Ducati. He admitted that he was completely aware of the team’s expectations, but he used his experience to not let all this bog him down.
The Buriram Sprint Race winner was ecstatic for his brother and said, “… my brother finished second. So, I’m even happier.” It was a Ducati 1-2-3. It wasn’t smooth sailing for Bagnaia as he had to hold off debutant Ai Ogura from Trackhouse by less than a second. VR46’s Franco Morbidelli has a pretty dull race and wrapped up the top five positions.

Thailand MotoGP: Marc takes pole
Marc Marquez had a dream start, posting a time of 1m28.782s, which seemed nearly unbeatable. In fact, the only rider who appeared to challenge it was Marquez himself, as he came close to breaking the track record. Alex Marquez followed in second with a time of 1m28.928s, holding off Francesco Bagnaia. Pramac Racing, now using Yamaha, had a reason to celebrate as Jack Miller qualified fourth, marking the only Japanese motorcycle in the top five. The rookie of the day, however, was Ai Ogura, who impressed with a solid fifth-place finish in qualifying.
