The 2025 Dakar Rally has been a huge success, and two men will celebrate — KTM’s Daniel Sanders and Overdrive Racing’s Yazeed Al Rajhi. Both of them have won the Dakar Rally for the first time. KTM is also happy taking the win despite snipping off Gas Gas and Husqvarna from the Rally this year, while the Toyota factory team missed the overall victory.

In the motorcycle class, Daniel Sander took multiple stage wins in the opening days of the race, and his consistent performance ensured he stayed on top of the leaderboards. He also had a tough job of fending away the four Hondas on his tail. Second place went to Scareina onboard a Honda, while Adrian Van Beveren took third, followed by KTM’s Benavides in fourth.
Defending champion Ricky Brabec finished fifth, followed by fellow Honda rider Skyler Howes. Hero took seventh place overall with their sold rider, Nacho Cornejo. In the stage rankings, it was Docherty who took the win, followed by Van Beveren and Ebster in third.

Yazeed Al Rajhi has all the reasons to celebrate as this is his first Dakar win. The Saudi driver took a strategic win over Toyota’s factory driver Henk Lategan, who finished second overall, followed by Mattias Ekstrom in third, Nasser Al-Attiyah in fourth, and Guthrie in fifth.
Last year’s champion Carlos Saiz had to exit the rally after his car was unfit to continue after a rollover in the desert, while Al-Attiyah’s teammate, nine-time WRC winner Loeb was also forced to quit after an unfit car. Toyota dominated this year at the Dakar and next year, the factory team will aim for the top spot.
