A chance to get behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Aventador, who wouldn't want that? But unless you're a billionaire, chances will be quite bleak that you'll get to drive one of those. However, the world of virtual reality has us covered. Racing games are great fun and food for competitive appetite. Here's a look back at five of greatest racing games to have excited millions of gaming lovers around the world:
-
Need For Speed Payback: It just isn't possible that this game wouldn't make part of a best-games list. Besides being able to drive about in cars like Nissan GTR, this game also offers a comprehensive story line complete with turbo boosts and outrageous police chases. Quite neat!
-
GT Sport: Gran Turismo is one of the most popular racing games the world has ever seen. After a four year wait, it arrived on the PS4 this year. It features 162 cars and 27 tracks. The GT Sport offers pristine graphics and exclusive concept cars.
-
Project Cars 2: Although Project Cars 2 has a similar amount of races as GT Sport, it has much bigger distances. Also, unlike GT Sport, Project Cars 2 features classics from the 90s, 80s and 70s here, from iconic road cars to some of the most famous racing cars ever to grace a track.
-
Dirt 4: Dirt 4 has gorgeous graphics, with day and night stages looking almost photorealistic at times. It also has a lot more content. If you're not in a mood to race a car or the clock, bash into cones or just mess around in RallyCross races, there is a mode on Dirt 4 that lets you do that.
-
F1 2017: The official Formula 1 game gets a new version every year, but this year's game was one of the best ever. F1 2017 features vastly improved handling, along with all the cars and tracks from this year's championship. This year, Codemasters also included classic F1 cars in the game.
