Honda India has launched the new Honda City in India at Rs 8.50 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The 2017 Honda City is powered by the existing 1.5 litre petrol engine that develops 117 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox. The 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine produces 99 hp and 200 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The 2017 Honda City retains the same design silhouette as the outgoing model but has some new elements that lend it differentiation. The company has dropped the base E variant from the new Honda City and is now available with a choice of seven petrol and four diesel versions. All the variants are offered with unlimited kilometres or 3years standard warranty.

The company has equipped the City sedan with LED projector headlamps with standard LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) across the variants. The sedan also features LED tail lamps, lip-mounted spoiler and 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels on the top trim. The base versions get 15-inch wheels with a full wheel cover.

The cabin of the new Honda City gets a host of new convenience features. The major change that has been made to the 2017 City includes a 17.7 cm or a 7-inch DIGIPAD infotainment system with navigation, MirrorLink, USB, Bluetooth and an in-built memory of 1.5 GB. This new system has been developed by the company's Indian R&D facility and features internet connectivity. The lower versions are equipped with an LCD-display audio system with four speakers and connectivity options like Aux-In, AM/FM, MP3, Bluetooth, i-Pod, HDMI port and SD memory card slots.

Keeping the safety of all occupants in mind, the Japanese car manufacturer has equipped the new sedan with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and dual front airbags as standard. The higher variants are available with cruise control, six airbags including the driver, front passenger, side and curtain airbags.

For customisation. The customers can also opt for a wide range of accessory on the new Honda City. The customisable accessories include Wi-Fi dongle, bucket mat, trunk-end moulding, City logo projector on ORVM and deck-lid spoiler. Besides this, the car manufacturer is also offering the sedan with three styling packages, namely; Chrome Package, Utility Package and Style Package.

The newly launched Honda City petrol variants are priced between Rs 8.50 lakh for the base variant and Rs 13.52 lakh for the top versions. The diesel variants start at Rs 10.75 lakh and go up till Rs 13.56 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
