Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Alto K10 in India, prices starting at Rs 3.99 lakh onwards. The new K10 is based on Maruti Suzuki’s new Heartect platform and will be sold alongside the 800cc version of the Alto.

The Alto K10 draws its design inspiration from the recently-launched Maruti Suzuki Celerio, which sits above the Alto in the carmaker’s lineup. The Alto has shed its old looks to take on a more curvaceous design.

Towards the rear, the design language continues with a smart-looking tail lamp. One interesting fact about the new Alto K10’s design is that it is now longer and taller than its predecessor, offering more interior room.
-
The new Alto K10’s interior features a black dash, dual-tone seats finished in black and grey, and circular air vents that compliment the exterior design. Also, Maruti Suzuki has worked on maximising the interior space, especially shoulder, head, and knee room.

One of the new Alto K10’s highlights is the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers smartphone connectivity in the form of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system also offers navigation functions.
-
Other features include steering-mounted controls for the 4-speaker audio system and voice command fuctions, a fully-digital instrument cluster, and more. The Alto K10 is well-equipped for an entry-level hatchback.

The biggest highlight with the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is the engine — a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K-Series unit that made its debut on the recently-updated S-Presso. The engine makes 65 bhp and 89 Nm of torque with the help of a 5-speed manual or an AMT. Maruri Suzuki claims a mileage of 24.9 kmpl with the new engine.

Safety is another area the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has improved on. The new paltform itself helps make the car safer than before, however, the carmaker also offers dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing door locks, reverse parking sensors, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, and more. Overall, Maruti Suzuki claims that the new Alto K10 has over 15 safety features, making it the safest Alto ever.
