Hyundai’s best-seller, the Creta, is gearing up to go electric on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The South Korean automaker has just revealed key details about the Creta Electric, including its interiors, power output for both battery variants, and a host of advanced tech and safety features. Here’s everything you need to know about the exciting new electric SUV.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Power Output and Range
The Creta Electric will be offered in five variants: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence. Hyundai has confirmed that the electric SUV will come with two battery options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh.
The 51.4 kWh long-range variant delivers 169 bhp, accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds, and offers a range of 473 km. Meanwhile, the 42 kWh version produces 133 bhp and provides a range of 390 km.
When it comes to charging, the Creta Electric can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 58 minutes using a DC fast charger. With an 11 kW AC home charger, the battery can be fully charged from 10 per cent in around 4 hours.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Cabin
Hyundai has retained the ICE Creta’s interior design with two 10.25-inch displays including the infotainment system and the driver’s console, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats. The Creta Electric sports a brand new three-spoke steering wheel similar to the Ioniq 5. For convenience, there’s a steering-mounted stalk which uses shift-by-wire technology.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Digital Key
Hyundai introduced the digital key facility with the 2024 Alcazar update. With Near Field Communication (NFC) tech, one can lock or unlock the vehicle by tapping their phone against the door handle. With NFC, the smartphone sends an electric current that creates a magnetic field, transmitting data and energy, which locks and unlocks the doors.

The Creta Electric adds another impressive feature, allowing customers to pay for EV charging directly through the vehicle’s infotainment screen. With access to over 1,150 EV chargering stations across India, this makes charging hassle-free and seamless, taking a major step toward the future of cars as a payment platform.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Safety
The Creta Electric comes equipped with 52 safety features as standard, including six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brakes (EPB) with auto hold, Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), among others.
The higher variants take safety to the next level, offering Level 2 ADAS with 19 tech-enabled functions. These include Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with stop-and-go functionality, ensuring a safer and more intelligent driving experience.
