Who is the serial vandal: Lucy Grace Nelson
After arresting the suspect, the 40-year-old Nelson, the Loveland Police Department issued a press release stating that she (Nelson) was allegedly found returning to a Tesla store with “additional incendiary devices and materials linked to previous vandalism”. According to the police, Nelson is suspected of three vandalism acts at the Loveland Tesla dealership — January 29, February 2 and February 7. One incident includes throwing Molotov cocktails on four Tesla vehicles and causing damage worth $200,000. In another act of vandalism at the same Tesla dealership, the store’s windows were written “Nazi cars” and painted X on the EVs in the parking lot.
At the moment, the authorities have not shared the details of the devices and materials found on Nelson. The police are investigating this case with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and federal charges are expected to be filed against Nelson.
Police have been unable to speak to Nelson as she has requested an attorney. A $100,000 cash surety bond has been set by the Larimer County Magistrate. The police spokesperson said that these incidents were not only unlawful, dangerous, and unsettling, but they also created an atmosphere of discomfort and worry. Those who work at the business, along with those living in the community, have had to deal with such concerns since the first incident on January 29th.
