The Ather Rizta finally goes on sale in the Indian market, priced at Rs 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom. The price, however, is an introductory offer for those who have pre-booked the new family scooter from EV maker Ather Energy. For those considering the new Ather Rizta, here are five things to know about the new electric scooter.

Top 5 highlights of Ather Rizta

Platform and design

The Ather Rizta uses a modified chassis of the 450, which allows the scooter to be lower and have a large seat. The design is quite rounded compared to the 450’s sharp design with large body panels, giving the Rizta a calm overall design. The colour options also add to the family design of the scooter with 7 colours on offer, including 3 monotone and 4 dual-tone shades.

Battery pack and range

The Rizta is powered by the company’s 2.9kWh battery pack or the 3.7kWh unit. The former has a claimed IDC range of 123km, while the latter has a range of 160km. Both battery pack variants allow a top speed of 80kmph, while users have a choice of two riding modes – Smart Eco and Zip – unlike the 450 series.

Features and equipment

The Rizta’s feature list is comprehensive for a family scooter. The Scooter gets either a TFT dash or an LCD one depending on the variant, a dedicated reverse button, smartphone connectivity that allows Whatsapp functionality, a FallSafe option, and a newly introduced Skid Control, which detects the wheel speed to keep power in check. Also, Ather’s Magic Twist also comes standard, along with hill hold.

Storage

Storage space is one of the biggest factors one must consider with the Rizta. The under-seat storage offers 34-litres of storage and the collapsible frunk offers 22-litres, taking the total storage to 56-litres. The boot also has an organiser, which allows one to use the lining as a bag, helping carry everything in the boot.

Variants

The Ather Rizta is available in two primary variants – S and Z – while the Z variant is available in two versions by itself, depending on the battery pack size.
