Maruti Suzuki took the wraps off the new eVitara at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo and ahead of its official launch, select dealers have started accepting unofficial bookings for the new electric SUV. People looking to buy the first-ever Maruti Suzuki electric crossover can book the eVitara for Rs 25,000.

The new Maruti Suzuki eVitara is the company’s first electric vehicle and is likely to be launched in March 2025. The eVitara is based on a new HEARTECT-e platform, dedicated to electric vehicles. The electric crossover will be available with two battery packs – 49kWh and a 61kWh – and the company claims a range of 500km on a full charge. The 49kWh unit makes 142bhp and 192.5Nm of torque while the larger battery pack makes 172bhp and the same amount of torque.

On the features front, the Maruti Suzuki eVitara gets a 10.1-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, power adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and reclinable rear seats. The Vitara will also be offered in 10 colour schemes which include four dual-tone options.

On the safety front, the eVitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s first vehicle to feature ADAS Level 2. Apart from ADAS, the eVitara gets seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind spot detection, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and an electronic parking brake. When launched, the eVitara will compete primarily with the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Tata Curvv EV.
