The recently launched Tata Sierra SUV has gathered over 70,000 bookings on the first day of acceptance. This announcement was shared by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. on Wednesday via an official release. Additionally, around 1.35 lakh prospective customers have submitted their preferred configurations and are currently in the process of completing booking formalities, the company said.

Pricing, Variants, and Booking Details

The Tata Sierra SUV was launched in India recently and is priced between Rs 11.49 lakh and Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open with an initial payment of Rs 21,000. Positioned above the Tata Curvv in the company’s portfolio, the Sierra expands Tata Motors’ presence in the competitive mid-size SUV space. Deliveries of the new Tata Sierra are expected to commence in the coming weeks.

Powertrain Options and Key Features

The new Sierra comes with a competitive package that incldues multiple variants with both petrol and diesel powertrains. Engine options include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel, paired with manual and automatic transmission choices. Higher variants are equipped with Level 2 ADAS, connected-car features, powered front seats and a powered tailgate. It also gets a panoramic sunroof in multiple variants.

Earlier this week. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles marked India’s victory at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 by gifting the first units of the Sierra to members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. The handover took place during a felicitation ceremony in Mumbai attended by senior leaders from the Tata Group and Tata Motors.

In the Indian market, the Sierra is positioned in the highly competitive midsize-SUV segment against established models such as the Hyundai Creta, new Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris and the Toyota Hyryder among others.
