Tata Harrier EV crushes Bharat NCAP: Perfect 5-star safety score

Tata Motors maintains its reputation for delivering one of the safest vehicle lineups, whether powered by fossil fuels or electricity. The newly launched Harrier EV is the latest addition to this safety-focused portfolio, securing a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests. What’s surprising is that the Harrier EV’s safety scores match those of its key competitor, the Mahindra XEV 9e.

Tata Harrier EV: Bharat NCAP ratings

We deep dive into the Harrier EV’s safety report card from Bharat NCAP. The Tata EV full-sized SUV topped the charts with a 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP).

The Tata flagship EV SUV scored 32 out of 32 points Adult Occupant Protection test. In both Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier and Side Movable Deformable Barrier Tests, the EV, without batting an eyelid, cruised to 16 out of 16 points. In the Child Occupant Protection test, the Harrier EV came out in the flying colours with 45 out of 49 points. In the dynamic score and CRS installation score, it scored full marks with 24 and 12, respectively. In the vehicle assessment score, it managed a 9 out of 13 score.

Tata Harrier EV: Safety Features

The Harrier EV is equipped with loads of safety features like standard six airbags (seven for top model), Electronic Stability Control and electronic control of the brakes, rear-view mirror doubles as a front and rear dash cam, ISOFIX mounts, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold and all four disc brakes. It offers 15 Auto Park Assist features like Anywhere Parking, Kerb Impact Alert (Rim protection), Park Distance warning (PDW), Slot Offering, Perpendicular Park-In, Perpendicular Park-Out and much more.

The Harrier EV is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Centering System, Blind Spot Detection, Front and Rear Collision Warning, etc.

Tata Motors has currently revealed the introductory prices of the Harrier EV as it start from Rs 21.49 lakh to Rs 27.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
