Indian football team captain Sunil Chettri announced his retirement from professional and international football yesterday. Through a video on his Instagram, the 39-year old forward revealed his decision of not representing his country any more which led to an overflow of emotions across the internet.
Chhetri will be remembered as one the best football players of his generation and one of the key individuals to have popularised the game in India. Let us look at some of his cars that can be found inside his garage.
Toyota Fortuner
Toyota Fortuner is more than just an SUV and considered a status symbol. The Fortuner is priced between Rs 33.43 lakh and Rs 51.44 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with two engine options— a 2.7-litre petrol unit and a 2.8-litre diesel unit. The former is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox whereas the latter can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Kia Seltos
Chhetri also owns a Kia Seltos which is priced between Rs 10.90 lakh and Rs 20.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Seltos is available in three broad categories— Tech (HT) Line, GT Line and X-Line. The Tech Line is further classified into HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX and HTX+ trims, whereas the GT Line is now offered in two trims – GTX+ (S) and GTX+. Kia offers as mnay as three engine options to go with as many as five transmission options.
Mahindra Scorpio
The Indian football team captain has an affinity for SUVs. His third SUV in his garage is the Mahindra Scorpio, although we don’t know if its the old-gen Scorpio Classic or the new-gen Scorpio N. The Scorpio Classic is priced between Rs 13.59 lakh and Rs 17.35 lakh, whereas Rs. 13.85 and Rs 24.54 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
Audi A6
The only luxury car in Chhetri’s collection that we know of is the Audi A6. The saloon is available at prices between Rs. 64.07 – 70.41 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in two variants— Premium Plus and Technology, the A6 is powered by a 2-litre TFSI engine that makes 242 bhp and 370 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
