Tata Motors has ramped up its social media activity by promoting the upcoming Curvv slated to hit the markets on August 7. The coupe SUV will be made available in both combustion and fully-electric derivatives and will cater to its modern design philosophy. Ahead of its launch, Tata Motors has shared multiple teasers of the Curvv on its social media platforms.
One of those teasers reveal that the upcoming coupe SUV comes equipped with a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, which is a first in its segment. This feature comes in very handy when one needs to access the boot but their hands are tied up, so the movement of the feet helps open the boot lid.
Tata Curvv: Other key features
The Curvv will benefit from several other novel features such as a 12.3-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system which will be the largest in its class, a fully-digital instrument console, wireless smartphone charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, connected car tech via iRA, and a two-spoke steering wheel with touch-based controls.
Other expected features to be offered with the Curvv include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, a premium music system, paddle shifters (for AT variants only), and Level 2 ADAS. The ADAS package will include safety features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot detection and much more.
Tata Curvv: Design
From the teasers, concepts, and test mules spied until now, the Curvv looks very distinct from any other Tata model. This mainly has to do with its sportier coupe-like side profile with a sharply receding roofline. The Curvv boasts a commanding front fascia, featuring a sleek black grille and front bumper that draws inspiration from the Harrier.

Its striking design is further enhanced by signature slim LED daytime running lights (DRLs), which may be accompanied by sequential indicators for added visual flair. Additional features could include LED fog lamps, stylish five-spoke petal-design alloy wheels, and connected LED tail lamps that create a seamless visual flow. Completing its sporty appearance is a roof-mounted spoiler, hinting at the Curvv’s dynamic capabilities.
Tata Curvv: Powertrain specs
The ICE version of Curvv will be offered with two petrol and one diesel engine options. These include a 118 bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 123 bhp 1.2-litre turbo GDI petrol unit, and a 114 bhp 1.5-litre diesel mill. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The battery-powered Curvv is expected to offer two battery options: a 40.5 kWh unit and a larger 55 kWh pack. The smaller battery, already featured in the lower-spec trims of the Nexon, boasts a peak range of 465 km in the subcompact electric SUV. Meanwhile, the 55 kWh battery is rumoured to deliver an impressive range exceeding 600 km on a single charge.

Both battery variants will be powered by an electric motor mounted on the front axle. Although exact motor specifications remain under wraps, it’s anticipated that the smaller battery will be paired with a single-motor, front-wheel drive configuration, while the larger battery pack will come with a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup. Additionally, Tata Motors will offer fast charging capabilities with the Curvv EV, enabling the battery to regain 100 km of range in just 10 minutes.
