Skoda is gearing up to launch the all-new second generation Kodiaq in India on April 17. The latest iteration of the SUV broke cover globally in September 2024 and gets subtle yet notable upgrades over the outgoing model. Like the outgoing model, the new Kodiaq will be locally assembled via CKD kits at the company’s Aurangabad-based manufacturing facility.
Ahead of its launch, the Czech carmaker has teased the second-gen Kodiaq on its social media handles in its full glory. The company has shared two teasers of the premium mid-size SUV in the past couple of days which will be available in two trims: Laurin & Klement (L&K) and Sportline. As the launch nears, two test mules of the new Kodiaq were recently caught on camera.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Design
A uploaded on YouTube channel Automobile with Bruce, reveals two Kodiaq prototypes— one L&K and the other Sportline. On closer inspection, one could easily deduce the visual difference between the two variants. The one wrapped in the golden colour shade is the L&K trims with more chrome elements such as the signature Skoda butterfly grille, and the rear bumper.
The Sportline trim is adorned with blacked-out elements that give the SUV a sportier edge. The rear bumper gets a faux blacked-out diffuser panel with a thin chrome treatment. Alloy wheel designs of the two variants are slightly different from each other although both come with dual-tone wheels. Both variants can be seen with a ‘4×4’ badge on the tailgate.
Rest of the design is common for both variants which includes visual highlights such as split headlight design with larger main units and integrated LED DRLs, C-shaped LED taillights, Skoda lettering, a roof-mounted spoiler, and optional D-pillar trim. The new Kodiaq also seems to get a longer rear overhang as compared to its predecessor. Speaking of which, the new Kodiaq measures 4,758mm in length—59mm longer than the outgoing model. That said, the height, width, and wheelbase of the SUV remain unchanged.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Powertrain
The India-spec Skoda Kodiaq will continue to draw its power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 188 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. This motor will be exclusively paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission which sends power to all four wheels.
