Mercedes-Benz launches the most powerful GLS AMG ever in India

The Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line is available in petrol and diesel, and both variants can do 0 – 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz India launched the GLS AMG Line, a sportier and more aggressive iteration of its flagship full-size luxury SUV. Priced at Rs 1.40 crore for the GLS 450 AMG Line and Rs 1.43 crore for the GLS 450d AMG Line (ex-showroom), this new model not only enhances the company’s top-end luxury portfolio but also adds serious muscle to its already successful GLS lineup, which boasts over 16,000 units on Indian roads.

Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG: Styling

The new GLS AMG Line features Mercedes-AMG-inspired design that injects sporty flair into the full-size SUV segment. Key design changes include a bold AMG front apron, distinctive air intakes, flared wing panels, and diffuser-look inserts on the rear. The brake system features larger perforated brake discs at the front axle & brake calipers with “Mercedes-Benz”lettering.

The AMG Night Package adds a bold visual identity to the GLS AMG Line, enhancing its sporty character with striking blacked-out design elements. Key highlights include gloss black exterior mirror housings, darkened shoulder and window line trim strips, and elegant matte black roof rails that elevate the SUV’s road presence. The signature 21-inch AMG light-alloy wheels further amplify its aggressive stance, while the radiator grille with four slats in dark chrome and high-gloss black design accents deliver a refined yet powerful front fascia. The front and rear aprons sport AMG-styled trim strips, giving the GLS AMG Line a commanding appearance.

The multifunction sport steering wheel is finished in nappa leather, featuring a sleek black colour with matching black topstitching and a distinctive 3-twin-spoke design. Its flattened bottom section is perforated in the handle area for enhanced grip, and it comes equipped with intuitive touch control panels and gearshift paddles for a dynamic driving experience. The airbag cover is also wrapped in nappa leather, while the steering wheel trim is accentuated in silver chrome, adding a refined touch. The AMG sports pedals are crafted from brushed stainless steel with black rubber studs for both style and functionality. The black floor mats, adorned with the iconic “AMG” lettering, seamlessly blend with the overall interior design, completing the sophisticated look.

Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG: Petrol and diesel variants

The GLS AMG Line is available in petrol and diesel options, offering identical performance with two inline 6-cylinder engines mated to a 9G-TRONIC transmission. Both variants deliver a top speed of 250 kmph and do 0-100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds, thanks to the torque and all-wheel-drive 4MATIC systems.
