Maserati unleashes 622 bhp MCPURA supercar at Goodwood 2025

Maserati MCPURA super sports car made its global premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex’s South Downs National Park. This 100% Italian-crafted masterpiece is an evolution of the MC20 Halo Car launched in 2020. The MCPURA is powered by the 622 bhp V6 Nettuno engine. Celebrating 100 years of the Trident legacy, MCPURA embodies pure energy and driver connection, blending timeless craftsmanship with power.

Santo Ficili, Maserati COO, hailed it as a return to the brand’s pinnacle, crafted entirely in Modena, the heart of Motor Valley, where the Nettuno engine and custom Fuoriserie finishes are born. The launch campaign’s bold “E = MCPURA” slogan, inspired by Einstein’s relativity, underscores its excellence, marking a new era of Italian luxury.

Ficili said, “With MCPURA, Maserati is once again regaining its rightful place: at the top and in its stomping ground. Both versions – coupé and Cielo – are created at our historic Modena facility, where the heart of the Trident has been beating for almost 90 years. This is where the entire MCPURA production process takes place: we produce the Nettuno engine, assemble each component and carry out the most exclusive customisation at the Maserati Officine Fuoriserie. Modena is not just our headquarters; it forms part of our identity. We are the oldest automotive marque in the Motor Valley, an area we have helped to build and that we continue to represent around the world. From there, we proudly tell the story of Italian excellence and luxury.”

 Maserati MCPURA: Design and Power

The MCPURA shines in the Ai Aqua Rainbow hue, a matte coupé and glossy Cielo finish that shifts with sunlight, creating a rainbow effect via the Maserati Fuoriserie program. Magenta Trident logos with blue mica accents and laser-etched Alcantara Ice seats with iridescent red-blue backing add futuristic sportiness. Its colour palette expands with bold Devil Orange and elegant Verde Royale and Night Interaction, reflecting Italian heritage.

Weighing under 1,500 kg thanks to a carbon-fibre monocoque, the MCPURA boasts a class-leading 2.33 kg/CV power-to-weight ratio. The patented 3-litre twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine, producing 622 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 720 Nm from 3,000 rpm, features Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion, offering a 210 CV/litre ratio. Butterfly doors enhance access, while the Cielo’s PDLC glass roof switches from opaque to transparent in a second, delivering a unique open-air experience.

Maserati MCPURA: Crafted excellence from Modena

Built at Maserati’s historic Modena plant on Viale Ciro Menotti, the MCPURA joins the GT2 Stradale, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio, with production expanding in Q4 2025. The Officine Maserati Fuoriserie offers tailored customisations, from engine crafting to exclusive Fuoriserie paintwork, delivering a fully Made in Modena experience. Now available in both coupé and Cielo variants, the MCPURA combines strength, lightweight design, and opulence, setting new benchmarks for super sports cars. This launch, marking the Year of the Trident, solidifies Maserati’s dominance in the global luxury market.
