Maruti Suzuki has launched the fourth-generation Dzire starting from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh, ex-showroom. The automobile manufacturer has also unveiled the prices of the Dzire CNG priced from Rs 8.74 lakh and Rs 9.74 lakh, ex-showroom. In addition, the new Dzire will also be offered on a subscription basis starting at Rs 18,248 per month.
The new Dzire has raised the safety bar in the compact sedan segment as it received a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP Safety crash tests. The new sedan is the first Maruti Suzuki vehicle to achieve top honours. The Dzire is available in five trims — LXI, VXI, VXI (O), ZXI and ZXI Plus. Maruti Suzuki has also confirmed that the outgoing third-generation Dzire will be available for fleet services as Tour S.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Engine Specs
The Dzire is powered by the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z Series naturally aspirated engine that made its debut earlier this year with the Swift. The powertrain produces 80 bhp and 112 Nm of torque and It comes in two transmission options — a five-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Features
The new Dzire is fully loaded with features like a 9-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, flat bottom steering with audio and phone controls and cruise control. The cabin is dual-tone in colour with a predominantly beige-black combination along with a faux wooden panel with an aluminium brush strip above it. It is also equipped with an automatic climate control. The Dzire offers first-in-segment features like a single-panel electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

As mentioned earlier, the Dzire is the safest sedan in the segment and scored a five-star rating for adult and a four-star rating for child occupancy safety. The new sedan comes standard with 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts for all seats, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and ABS with EBD.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Exteriors
Maruti Suzuki has ensured that there’s no resemblance between the Dzire and the Swift even though it is based on the hatchback. The sedan has an aggressive new front grille with bold horizontal slats with a piano black panel housing the ‘S’ logo. The new angular LED headlights resemble crystals and for better illumination, it also has LED fog lamps. The side profile has some resemblance to the outgoing model with a set of new dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear sports a low-profile spoiler with a chrome strip connecting the new Y-shaped LED tail lamps.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Competition
The new Dzire squares off against the Hyundai Aura and the Tata Tigor. The former is priced from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.05 lakh while the latter costs from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9.40 lakh, ex-showroom. The compact sedan segment will heat up further as Honda will launch on the all-new Amaze on December 4. Will the new launches revive the sedan segment? Only time will tell.
