Maruti Fronx Velocity Edition now comes with turbo as well as NA petrol engine, prices start at Rs 7.29 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has re-launched the Fronx Velocity Edition in the market at a starting price of Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition model is now available for a limited period across all 14 variants of Fronx, including the 1.0L turbo and the 1.2L NA petrol engine options.

The Fronx Velocity Edition gets a spruced up sporty look courtesy of standard accessories even though the overall design remains unchanged. The Indo-Japanese carmaker is offering an aesthetic style kit in red and grey for the Fronx Velocity edition. Besides the accessories offered, the Fronx Velocity Edition also benefits from amenities like a 9-inch touchscreen Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, a semi-digital instrument console, Head-Up Display with turn-by-turn navigation, and 360-degree camera to name a few, depending on the choice of variant.

Maruti Fronx Velocity Edition: Powertrain specs

Maruti offers the Fronx Velocity Edition with the same petrol engine options as the standard model — a 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated unit and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged unit. The former pushes out 89 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque while the latter kicks out 99 bhp and 148 Nm of peak torque. There is also a CNG option which comes with the 1.2-litre NA motor and pushes out 77 bhp and 98.5 Nm of peak torque.

A 5-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard for both the engines. In addition, the 1.2-litre NA unit gets the option of a 5-speed AMT whereas the 1.0-litre turbocharged mill can be had with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
