Maruti Baleno & Ertiga now come with six airbags as standard

Maruti Suzuki is in process of upgrading its entire lineup with six airbags as standard in line with the government mandate which comes into effect from 1 October 2025. Most models in the Arena range have already been equipped with six airbags as standard, and the company has started upgrading the Nexa lineup now with the same.

The Indo-Japanese carmaker has now upgraded Ertiga and Baleno with six airbags as standard across the lineup. Maruti confirmed the same through a release shared in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This leaves S-Presso as the only Maruti model in the Arena range that is yet to be equipped with standard 6 airbags. On the other hand, the Nexa lineup offers Grand Vitara and Invicto with 6 airbags already.

With the latest update, the Ertiga and Baleno have seen marginal price increases of 1.4% and 0.5%, respectively. As a result, the Ertiga is now priced between Rs 8.96 lakh and Rs 13.25 lakh, while the Baleno ranges from Rs 6.74 lakh to Rs 9.92 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.
