Mahindra continues with the drip teasing of the facelifted XUV300 which will be rebranded into XUV 3XO. First launched in 2018, this will be the first major upgrade to the XUV300 and going by the many teasers shared by Mahindra, it can be safely assumed that the XUV 3XO will pack several updates.
In the latest teaser released a couple of days back, Mahindra has highlighted another big addition in the XUV 3XO. The subcompact SUV will feature an all-new panoramic sunroof, making it the first in its segment to offer this feature. All its rivals including Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Tata Nexon offer single-pane electric sunroofs.
The XUV 3XO will be the first to offer a dual-pane electric sunroof which Mahindra dubs it as skyroof. As mentioned in the disclaimer, this feature will only be available in select top-spec variants of the XUV 3XO. In fact, the XUV 3XO will be the first car in the sub-4 metre category to come with a panoramic sunroof.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: Other features
Earlier teasers have revealed additional features like a larger 10.2-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch instrument console, AdrenoX connected car system, remote dual-zone climate control, and projector LED headlamps and fog lamps. Besides, the facelifted XUV300 is expected to offer gizmos such as ventilated and powered front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless smartphone charger, ambient lighting, and a premium audio system.
Safety features in the XUV 3XO are likely to include 6 airbags, electronic stability program, traction control, 360-degree surround camera, and lane watch camera. The new XUV 3XO could also witness the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and join the likes of Venue and Sonet in the segment.
Mahindra XUV 3XO: Expected powertrain specs
Under its hood, Mahindra is likely to retain the same powertrain lineup as the current XUV300. Petrol engine options will include the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine delivering 109 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, and a higher-spec 1.2-litre T-GDI mStallion turbo petrol unit churning out 128 bhp power and 250 Nm torque.
Mahindra will continue to offer a 1.5-litre diesel mill which pumps out 115 bhp power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. Rumours suggest an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic to be added as an option as well. An all-electric version of the XUV 3XO is possibly in works which should sit below the existing XUV400 Pro.
