Ahead of its world premiere on March 27 at the New York Auto Show, Kia has unveiled the exterior and interior photos of the Kia K4 compact sedan. The new Kia K4 is in its second generation and rivals the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and the Hyundai Elantra in the global markets, specifically the US.
Kia K4: Exterior design
Kis says that the new K4 uses an ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. “Every contour, curve and detail of the K4 has been carefully considered and crafted to adhere to Kia’s design philosophy, Opposites United, bringing together clean faceted surfacing and technological details in a bold, cohesive statement. Every aspect further strengthens the relationship between brand and design,” says Karim Habib, Executive Vice President, and head of Kia Global Design.
The K4 features angular ‘L’ shaped headlights with the modules stacked vertically, while DRL adds to the aesthetics of the design. The design language is carried on towards the rear of the car with a vertical taillamp design, while the sloping roofline gives it a fast back-ish look.
Kia K4: Interiors and features
Inside, the K4 carries on the design theme and can be had in several choices, including Medium Gray, Slate Green, Canyon Brown, and Onyx Black. The car features a large central screen, split between an infotainment system and the digital cockpit, while physical buttons have been kept to a minimum.
Kia has not revealed the list of features, however, expect the K4 to have wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation, connected car tech, ADAS, and several other driver aids and comfort features. The engine details have also not been revealed and will be saved for its global launch on March 27 at the New York Auto Show.
