Kia has released the first teasers of the production-spec of EV3 ahead of its global debut scheduled to take place on 23 May 2024. The global premiere of the unveiling will be live-streamed on the company’s YouTube channel. The upcoming compact electric SUV will sit below the EV9 and EV5 in the Korean brand’s all-electric SUV lineup.
In essence, the EV3 will be an all-electric derivative of Kia Seltos. Hence, a market launch of the same in India could well be on the cards. A concept prototype of the same broke covers in October last year.
Kia EV3 teased: Expected design & interiors
The teaser images show glimpses of the production-spec EV3 which shares its silhouette with its ICE counterpart. Based on the same ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy like all recent Kia models, the teaser images indicate that the EV3 will borrow visual elements from the flagship EV9. These include the bold, geometric and robust aspects of the EV3’s exterior design.

The boxy rear fenders and tailgate are carried over from its larger siblings whereas the signature Star Map lighting gives the EV3 a distinct touch. While many elements of its interiors seen in the concept are not likely to make it to the final production model, we expect Kia to offer the twin-display comprising the touchscreen infotainment and a digital driver’s display to be seen in the EV3.
Kia EV3 teased: Expected specs
Kia has been tight lipped about the powertrain specs offered in the EV3. We expect the South Korean carmaker to offer a 40-45 kWh battery pack that should ideally offer a range of 400 km on a single charge. Given that India is one of the global production hubs for Kia, we expect that the EV3 will be assembled at the company’s Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh.
