Hyundai has been generating a buzz on social media with teasers and key details about the highly anticipated Creta Electric. We have finally got a look at the all-new all-electric SUV ahead of its official launch on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming EV mid-size SUV.
Hyundai Creta EV: Design
‘Why fix if it ain’t broke’! This is the philosophy Hyundai has stuck to as the new electric SUV retains the Creta internal combustion engine’s design language. Take a look closer and the Creta Electric offers some subtle yet vital updates and changes.
Starting with the front fascia, the all-black grille is enclosed, as seen in most electric vehicles, with the charging port cleverly hidden behind the Hyundai logo in the centre. What sets Creta Electric apart from its competitors is the inclusion of active air vents integrated into the front bumper. These vents, featuring four retractable flaps, help regulate the temperature of the battery and motor for optimal performance. Additionally, the Creta Electric retains its signature split headlight design, complemented by connected L-shaped DRLs.
The side profile of the Creta Electric remains identical to its ICE sibling though it sports a silver finish lower panel below the doors. Being an electric, this SUV gets a specially designed 17-inch alloy wheels for improved dynamics and efficiency. The Creta Electric’s rear LED lights set up remains the same with a connected light bar, while the bumper is redesigned like the front grille.
Hyundai Creta EV: Cabin
Step inside, and the layout feels familiar, but with a stylish twist – the dual-tone Granite Gray and Dark Navy colour combination adds a fresh touch. The center console below the front armrest offers extra storage space, thanks to the absence of a traditional gear lever. Instead, you’ll find a drive mode dial, electric parking with auto hold, buttons for the 360-degree camera, and front-ventilated seats.
The Creta Electric also boasts twin 10.25-inch displays and the climate control system is now equipped with touch-sensitive buttons. The unique three-spoke steering wheel features a distinctive Morse code design, complemented by a drive selector stalk for added convenience.
For better convenience, the rear passenger can increase the legroom by sliding the front co-driver’s seat with the control buttons on the side. The Hyundai Creta Electric offers rear passengers foldable tables and window shades. In terms of space, according to Hyundai, the Creta Electric has a boot space of 433 litres and an additional 22-litre frunk.
Hyundai Creta EV: Features
Being a Hyundai, the Creta Electric has a long list of features like various charging options starting with Type-C, USB A, a 12-volt socket and a wireless phone charger. Furthermore, It retains the Creta ICE’s twin 10.25-inch displays — one for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster along with an 8-speaker Bose sound system and dual-zone climate control with touch buttons. For added luxury, the Creta EV comes with 8-way powered front seats, including for the front passenger. The driver’s seat is equipped with a memory function, ensuring your perfect driving position is just a button press away.
Hyundai has used sustainable materials for the seat fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles, while the artificial leather upholstery uses corn extract, making it both eco-conscious and stylish.
