Ford India has launched the iconic Mustang in India at a starting price of Rs 65 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. This is also the first time a muscle car has gone on sale officially in India although muscle cars have been imported earlier in the country. The car will be sold in the country through the CBU route, hence attracting import duties. The car was earlier unveiled in India in the month of January.
The Mustang will only be sold in one variant – Mustang GT in the country and will be powered by a 5 L Ti-VCT V8 engine, developing 395 hp and 515 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Globally, the Mustang also comes with an EcoBoost engine, which is also seen in the EcoSport in a much smaller size.
