The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift, after being unveiled in Japan, has been spotted testing in India on many occasions, hinting at its launch next year. The updated Swift sees a host of subtle changes, that give the vehicle a refresh, however, there are a few notable updates to the features and safety.
Here are six features and safety aspects of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift that the current-generation model misses out on.
Current-gen Swift vs 2024 Swift – Features and safety
Infotainment system
Infotainment systems are getting larger and smarter in cars and the current-generation Swift gets a 7-inch touchscreen system while the upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzizki Swift gets a larger 9-inch unit, similar to the Brezza, Baleno, and Fronx, with wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation, and connected car tech.
Wireless charging
Wireless charging has also become popular in India and the upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift gets wireless charging while the current-gen Swift misses out on this feature. Wireless charging is convenient, however, when the phone moves owing to bad roads, charging can become a problem.

Paddle shifters
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, which is expected to make slightly more power than the current 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series engine’s 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. With the new engine comes the option of paddle shifters, however, the gearbox being an automatic or an AMT unit is yet to be revealed.
Electronic park brake
Another major update with the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be the electronic park brake compared to the current generation’s cable-operated unit. e-park brakes are more efficient and since there is no cable, there will be no need for manual adjustments to deal with a stretched cable.
360-degree camera
An extra set of eyes is always welcome and if they are capable of 360-degree view, it’s a boon. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a 360-degree camera to keep an eye on what’s happening around the car, while the Maruti Suzuki Swift on sale right now does not have it.
ADAS
The international-spec Maruti Suzuki Swift gets ADAS tech and this feature making it to the Indian models is unlikely, however, a few features will be carried forward like blind spot monitoring, as it was seen on the test mule. The current-generation Swift misses out on this feature and if Maruti Suzuki launches the Swift with ADAS, it will become the most affordable car in India with ADAS.
