In 15 days, Build Your Dreams (BYD) has officially announced that the Seal electric sedan has received over 500 bookings. The Seal is available in three variants — Dynamic at Rs 41 lakh, Premium at Rs 45.55 lakh, and Performance at Rs 53 lakh, ex-showroom.
Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India stated “We are confident of our product, of our pricing and are pleased to see the response it has generated in the market. We hit the 200 bookings mark soon after launch, and within 15 days, we have registered 500 bookings. It shows that Indian customers are keen on competitively priced and stylish solutions for sustainable motoring. We already offer a premium electric MPV with the All-New e6 and an electric-born E-SUV with the BYD ATTO 3. The latest BYD SEAL further widens our portfolio in India with an electric sports sedan that’s stylish and luxurious.”
BYD Seal: Performance
The Seal is available in three electric powertrain combinations with two battery pack options— 61.44 kWh and 82.56 kWh. The entry-level Dynamic Range is powered by the 61.44 kWh which claims a 510 km range on a single charge and has an output of 201bhp and 310Nm. Both the Premium and Performance trims get 82.56 kWh, but the power output is different.
The Premium comes with one electric motor and churns out 308 bhp and 360Nm with a claimed range of 650 km. The Performance, on the other hand, comes equipped with two motors and has an all-wheel-drive system. It produces 522bhp and 670Nm and claims a range of 580 km.
