Bugatti is synonymous with making some lethal speed guns on four wheels and the Bolide is the Italian supercar brand’s latest in its armoury. A track-only machine, the car’s exterior was revealed in its entirety to the public earlier this year. However, it was only recently when Bugatti took the covers off from its cabin interiors.
Only 40 units of Bugatti Bolide will be produced globally, with deliveries expected to start from early next year. Each unit of the Bolide has already been sold out at a price of 4 million Euros (approximately Rs 36 crore).
Bugatti Bolide exteriors
Like any hypercar, Bugatti has built the Bolide keeping performance in mind and for that aerodynamics is very crucial. It gets a low-slung design with massive diffusers at the front and rear bumpers, and a giant spoiler. It measures 995mm in height, making it 300mm shorter than the Chiron.
Further, aiding Bolide’s aerodynamics is a massive roof-mounted air scoop, winglets placed on the front splitter, and air curtains located ahead of the front wheels. Based on a lightweight monocoque chassis, the Bolide weighs only 1,240 kg since it’s built fromTitanium and Titanium composite carbon fibre.
Bugatti Bolide interiors
From the first glance, it is evident that the cabin isn’t scoring an ace when it comes to practicality or space. The biggest highlight is the X-shaped theme carried over from the car’s exterior– the most notable of them is its fancy steering wheel. Not just aesthetics, the steering wheel also houses quite a few functions such as ABS and TCS (traction control system) which can be controlled via eight key buttons.
Bugatti says the steering wheel can be easily unfastened which has been designed on the recommendations of its test riders. It also gets a fairly large digital display behind the steering wheel which reads out G-forces, lap times, etc. Being inspired by full-blown race cars, Bolide’s seats are aggressively leaning rearwards, allowing for the heels of the driver to sit slightly raised and for the passenger to be optimally angled towards the nose of the car.
The racecar inspiration goes further with the carbon fibre-shelled race seats which are offered in four different sizes. Instead of the seats, the steering wheel and pedals are adjustable to meet the driver’s requirements. Other interior highlights include unique AC vents that look like exhaust pipes, Alcantara upholstery, and exposed carbon fibre components, to go with a host of buttons on the centre console.
Bugatti Bolide powertrain specs
Powering the Bugatti Bolide is a humongous 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbo petrol engine which dishes out 1,825 bhp and 1,850 Nm of peak torque. This engine solely feeds on 110-octane racing fuel. As for performance, Bolide can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 2.17 seconds and 0-200 kmph in just 4.36 seconds.
