Jeep has released images of the upcoming all-electric Wagoneer S in its final production form. The battery-powered Wagoneer was teased a week back and is expected to make its global debut in the next few weeks. The electric SUV is slated to go on sale in international markets, starting with North America, later this year.
Along with the exterior, the latest set of images shared by Jeep also throw light on cabin interiors of the premium electric SUV. As reported earlier, the Wagoneer S is based on the STLA Large architecture which can underpin all kinds of powertrains including internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrids (strong/plug-in), and fully electric.
Jeep Wagoneer S: Exterior styling
The Wagoneer S borrows several visual elements from the ICE-powered Wagoneer as well as other Jeep models. For instance, it gets a seven-slate grille which is now illuminated. The front grille is flanked by sleek LED headlamps while the bumper houses a large air dam and chrome inserts in the air splitters on both sides.
Complemented it is a full-width LED bar at the front with a similar setup seen at the rear as well featuring sleek connected LED taillights. There are two spoilers on offer– one on the roof and other on the tailgate. Other exterior highlights include muscular squared wheel arches, a shark-fin antenna, and dark-chrome machine-finished alloy wheels. Jeep may also offer a small frunk under the hood.
Jeep Wagoneer S: Interiors & features
Inside the cabin, Jeep Wagoneer S wears premium interiors with the biggest highlight being the triple-screen layout on the dashboard including a fully-digital driver’s display, a central touchscreen infotainment unit, and a display for the front passenger. Another prominent highlight is the revised centre console housing the metallic rotary dial for the five different drive modes including Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto, and Sport.
The soft touch material on the dashboard, centre console, and door trims enhance the premium appeal whereas the contrasting red accents in the all-black cabin lend a sporty touch. Other features on offer include dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, multi-zone climate control, electronic hand brake, a multifunction steering wheel, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system etc.
Jeep Wagoneer S: Expected powertrain specs
While Jeep hasn’t officially revealed anything regarding its battery, we expect Jeep to offer multiple battery options with the Wagoneer S that could offer a range up to 600 km. The battery packs will supply energy to electric motors that dish out a combined peak output of 600 horses.
Since 4xe is a standard offering, it is given that Jeep will offer at least a dual-motor setup with the Wagoneer S. As for performance, the Wagoneer S can sprint from 0 to 97 kmph in 3.5 seconds.
