Ram Kapoor, renowned for his roles in television and film, is equally famous among enthusiasts for his impressive car collection. He has now become the first person in India to own the Lamborghini Urus SE, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid electric SUV. Kapoor’s luxury garage already boasts Porsches, Ferraris, and a Range Rover, but the customized Urus SE, priced at Rs 4.57 crore, stands out for its cutting-edge hybrid technology and exclusive features. This performance-driven SUV from Lamborghini’s Raging Bull range mirrors Kapoor’s love for luxury cars and his taste for distinctive, high-performance vehicles.
First Lamborghini Urus SE arrives on Indian soil
Kapoor bought a customized Lamborghini Urus SE in a Verde Gea colour (a matte olive green) for the exteriors. The cabin, on the other hand, sports a combination of a black leather interior with orange inserts on the seats, dashboard and the centre console and carbon fibre parts including the outside rearview mirrors.
The Urus SE packs a punch with a 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a plug-in hybrid system. It has a combined output of 788 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 800 Nm at 2,250 – 4,500 rpm. It is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic. According to Lamborghini, the Urus SE does 0 – 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and 0 – 200 kmph in 11.2 seconds with a top speed of 312 kmph. It also has a 25.9 kWh battery pack with an output of 189 bhp at 3,200 rpm and 483 Nm of torque.
The Lamborghini Urus SE, a plug-in hybrid, offers an electric-only range of 60 kilometres using a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery. It enables pure electric driving at speeds up to 130 kmph before the combustion engine engages, combining performance with improved efficiency for urban and highway use.
