Sunroofs have become a very desirable feature among Indian car buyers in recent years. Earlier limited to single-pane units, now several carmakers are offering dual-pane or panoramic sunroofs in their premium models. In this article, we look at the five most affordable cars with panoramic sunroofs on sale in India under Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Creta— Price: Rs 13.96 Lakh
Hyundai Creta is the most affordable car in India which gets a panoramic sunroof. The Korean brand offers this feature in mid-spec S+ Knight edition, which is covered in an all-black theme. Creta is slated to receive another comprehensive facelift soon, probably early next year which will see more features on offer.
MG Astor— Price: Rs 14.21 lakh
MG offers a panoramic sunroof in Astor from the mid-spec Smart trim onwards. This variant offers other features like LED headlamps, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start-stop, dual front airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking camera.
Kia Seltos— Price: Rs 15 lakh
Kia Seltos was earlier offered with a single-pane electric sunroof in its pre-facelift iteration. However, in its facelifted avatar launched in July this year, Kia offers a panoramic sunroof starting with the mid-spec HTK+ variant which is priced starting at Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
This variant comes equipped with features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto AC, ambient lighting, six airbags, front parking sensors, rear camera, and cruise control. There’s one catch though, the panoramic sunroof is only available in the turbocharged petrol variant.
Maruti Grand Vitara— Price: Rs 15.41 lakh
Grand Vitara is the first car from Maruti Suzuki to come with a panoramic sunroof. This feature is offered from the Alpha trim both in the petrol and hybrid powertrains with prices starting at Rs 15.41 lakh (ex-showroom). It either comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine or a 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain. The former gets either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic whereas the latter gets an e-CVT gearbox.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder— Price Rs 16.04 lakh
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder from Toyota is a rebranded avatar of Grand Vitara. However, Toyota offers a panoramic sunroof in Hyryder at a slightly higher price point. Hyryder gets a panoramic sunroof from the second top-most variant onwards with prices starting from Rs 16.04 lakh (ex-showroom).
