Toyota launched a new generation model of Camry a couple of weeks ago at a price of Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in two versions: standard Elegance and Sprint Edition. Price for the latter is yet to be announced but it will expectedly cost a premium over the standard model. Moreover, the Sprint edition is just the regular spiced by an accessory package.

Let us look at all the key differences between the Camry Sprint edition and the Elegance trim.

Toyota Camry Sprint vs standard: Exterior & Interior changes

The major difference between the standard Camry and the Camry Sprint are the sportier aesthetics of the latter which are majorly concentrated at the exterior. The Sprint edition is adorned with sportier blacked-out elements. The lower section of the front bumper houses a thin chrome strip while the edges and bumper lip get gloss black treatment instead of body-coloured ones seen on the standard Camry.

The alloy wheel design and size are same but instead of the dual-tone layout of the standard model, the Sprint edition rolls on all-black wheels which look sportier. Another major difference are black pillars and all-black roof in the Sprint Edition which is missing on the Elegance trim of the Camry. Similarly, the ORVM covers on the Camry Sprint edition are blacked-out instead of body-coloured units.

At the rear, the Sprint Edition gets a new split, and black-finished spoiler on the boot. Amplifying the sporty look is the rear bumper that houses a faux diffuser. Inside the cabin, apart from the addition of the ambient lighting, the layout and features of the Sprint edition remain similar to the Elegance variant.

Toyota Camry: Powertrain specs

As mentioned earlier, differences are purely cosmetic and there are no mechanical differences between the Camry Sprint edition and the regular model. Both versions are powered by a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated, Atkinson cycle petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-gen strong hybrid setup. The combustion engine produces 185 bhp and 221 Nm of peak torque. The combined power output stands at 227 bhp. Paired with an eCVT automatic transmission, Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 25.49 kmpl for the new Camry.
