After a successful launch of the Kylaq, Skoda is now gearing up to launch the second-gen Kodiaq in India. The new-gen Kodiaq made its global debut three months ago and more recently was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 last month. It has now been confirmed that the Czech carmaker will bring the new Kodiaq to India in April this year.
This development has been confirmed by a Skoda Auto India brand director Petr Janeba, at a recent media interaction on the sidelines of a media drive. Janeba also confirmed that the 2025 Kodiaq will be available in two trims: Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K).
Like the current model, the upcoming version of Kodiaq will be locally assembled in India through Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits. Test units of the premium seven-seat SUV have been spotted on a few occasions over the past few months.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Expected Design
The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq features a more assertive and angular design than its predecessor. The front end maintains the signature Skoda butterfly grille with vertical slats but now sports a refreshed split headlight design with larger main units and LED daytime running lights. A streamlined air dam and a front-mounted radar sensor hint at enhanced driver assistance capabilities.
While the SUV’s side profile retains its familiar silhouette, newly designed alloy wheels and an extended rear overhang suggest improved interior space. At the rear, the Kodiaq receives a complete overhaul, featuring C-shaped LED taillights, Skoda lettering, a roof-mounted spoiler, and optional D-pillar trim.
Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, the new Kodiaq will continue to be available as a seven-seater SUV in India. It measures 4,758mm in length—59mm longer than its predecessor—while its width, height, and wheelbase remain unchanged.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Expected Interiors & Features
The interior of the India-spec Skoda Kodiaq has yet to be fully unveiled, but it is expected to closely resemble the European model, adapted for right-hand drive. Key features of the new Kodiaq include a 13-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, LED matrix headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, a premium sound system, and a powered tailgate.
In terms of safety, the Kodiaq will offer up to nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors. It will also come equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for enhanced protection. Notably, the new Kodiaq earned a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP in July last year.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Expected Powertrain
While globally the Kodiaq is available with multiple powertrain options, in India it is most likely to be offered with a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine which pushes out 187 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. This mill will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox as standard.
