JSW MG Motor India has launched the updated Comet EV at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (with BaaS module at Rs 2.5/km). Normal prices of the MG Comet EV start from Rs 6.99 lakh and go up to Rs 9.81 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). In the 2025 model, the Comet EV gets new features and updated prices.
The company recently announced the launch of the Comet EV at a price of Rs 9.81 lakh (ex-showroom). Both the regular variants and Blackstorm Edition are available for bookings at Rs 11,000.
2025 MG Comet EV: What’s new?
The latest iteration of the battery-powered micro hatch is available in five variants: Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge, Exclusive, and Exclusive Fast Charge. As the name suggests, the Fast Charge (FC) variants support AC fast charging. All variants of Comet EV get the same 17.3kWh battery that claims to return a range of 231 km on a single charge.
In terms of features, the Excite and the Excite FC variants of the car now come with a rear parking camera and power-folding ORMS. Meanwhile, the Exclusive and Exclusive FC variants now get leatherette seats and a 4-speaker audio system. There are no other changes in the Comet EV.
2025 MG Comet EV: Features & Specs
The MG Comet EV comes equipped with several notable amenities, including dual 10.25-inch screens — one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation — along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additional features include a manual air conditioning system, electrically foldable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), and keyless entry.
The safety suite remains unchanged, with the Comet EV continuing to offer dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a reverse parking camera, and sensors. It also includes an electronic parking brake, electronic stability control (ESC), all four disc brakes, and hill-hold assist.
Powering the MG Comet EV is a 17.3 kWh battery that sends power to a rear-axle mounted electric motor that produces 41 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. It claims to return a range of 230 km.
2025 MG Comet EV: Warranty & Price
The Comet EV comes with a smart ownership package under MG e-Shield, covering repair and service costs. It includes the exclusive 3-3-3-8 service package, which offers: a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty, 3 years of Roadside Assistance (RSA), 3 free labor services for the first three scheduled maintenance visits, and an 8-year or 1.2 lakh km battery warranty.
Prices for the 2025 MG Comet EV have risen by Rs 6,000 for the mid-spec Excite and EXcite FC variants and by Rs 10,000 for Exclusive and Exclusive FC variants.
