The Hyundai Creta facelift will reportedly break cover on 16 January 2024. The updated iteration of Creta has been spied testing on Indian roads on several occasions over the past few months. The Korean carmaker has sent us a block your date invite for the same date which is most likely when the new Creta gets unveiled.
First introduced in the country in 2015, Creta received its first major upgrade in 2020. The Creta facelift is already on sale in a few international markets and will soon be on sale in India as well. In its latest avatar, Creta is expected to receive heavily tweaked exterior styling, additional features, and a new powertrain option.
2024 Hyundai Creta: Exterior Design
The facelifted Creta is expected to flaunt a completely redesigned front fascia inspired by the current-gen Tucson featuring a newly designed grille flanked by revised LED headlamps and integrated LED DRLs. The reprofiled front bumper will house a larger air dam and new fog lamps.
Side profile should remain more or less untouched barring new alloy wheel design. Also, like its cousin– Kia Seltos, the new Creta is expected to receive larger 18-inch wheels for the top-spec trim. Rear end is likely to witness significant changes including reshaped tailgate with new taillights. Bumper is also expected to be tweaked slightly. Other visual highlights include A-pillar mounted ORVMs, shark-fin antenna, and roof rails.
2024 Hyundai Creta: Interiors & features
Earlier, spy shots of Creta have revealed significant details regarding the cabin interiors of the upcoming Creta. While the layout is expected to remain similar to the outgoing model, the new Creta is expected to receive new shades for the upholstery.
Hyundai is expected to add more features to the equipment. These include wireless phone charger, a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and ventilated front seats, fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, etc. Safety features will include six airbags as standard, a 360-degree parking camera, and Level 2 ADAS technology.
2024 Hyundai Creta: Engine options
The Korean carmaker will retain the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine for the new Creta. The former puts out 114 bhp and 144 Nm of peak torque while the latter delivers 114 bhp and 250 Nm. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor discontinued earlier this year will be replaced by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit.
The power mill, also offered in Hyundai Verna and Kia Setos, dishes out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, a CVT automatic, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a six-speed clutchless manual.
