
German automaker has revealed the images of its new generation Audi A6 luxury sedan and promises a numbers innovations in this segment. Audi A6 now in its sixth generation will host more digitalisation, comfort and sportiness claim Audi. New Audi A6 will also get Mild-hybrid technology on all its variants meaning all the engines will be supported by an electric motor. The car will be revealed at the upcoming 2018 Geneva International Motor Show.
The new Audi A6 will get Audi’s new design language and will host the large hexagonal shaped grille on the face of the car. Audi A6 will get an updated sharp headlamp cluster with DRLs and LED matrix headlights. The dimensions of the Audi A6 sedan gets balanced proportions along with a long hood, longer wheelbase and short overhangs. The A6 now measures is 4,939 mm in length making it 7 mm longer than its predecessor. The width has been increased by 12 mm to 1,886 mm while the height at 1,457 mm now 2 mm taller than on the outgoing model. The wide, low-slung Singleframe grille, the flat headlights and the contoured air inlets enhance the sporty appeal of the car.
In the side view, three aggressive striking lines reduce the car’s visual height. The taut contours, which are drawn over the wheels, are the testimony to Audi’s Quattro genes. The taut roof line, which tapers into flat C-pillars, characterizes the silhouette. The short trunk lid ends in a curved separating edge for optimized aerodynamics. A striking chrome strip accentuates the three-dimensional sculpture of the rear and connects the rear lights.

The interior of the new A6 is better and premium than ever before. It features a black-panel design and claims to be the best business sedan. The sleek instrument panel and continuous horizontal body line give a sense of a spacious cabin. The centre console in the new Audi A6 is directed at the driver; the top MMI touch response display is also tilted slightly to the left. With its black-panel look, it almost disappears into an aluminium clip when switched off. The dashboard features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In addition, the head-up display and Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch display.

All engines in the new Audi A6 comes with Audi’s new mild-hybrid technology. At its global launch, Audi will offer two new engines. Each one diesel and petrol units. The petrol version is a 3.0 TFSI V6 turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 340 hp and 500 Nm. The 3.0 TDI sheds a power of 286 hp and 620 Nm of torque paired with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission. The two engines are equipped as standard with the Quattro all-wheel drive, whose design varies depending on the specific setup.
2018 Audi A6 will make roll off the assembly line at the Neckarsulm site and the sedan will make its German debut in June 2018. Expect Audi India to launch this latest iteration of Audi A6 sometime in early 2019.
