The new 2018 Audi Q5 SUV is set to be launched in India tomorrow. The next generation model features some exterior and interior tweaks and is almost 100 kgs lighter than its predecessor. The reduction in weight is all thanks to the new MLB platform on which the SUV comes based. In terms of visual changes, the new 2018 Audi Q5 gets a large single frame chrome grille up front that will instantly remind you of its elder sibling, the Q7. The new Audi Q5 also gets a redesigned bumper that makes the car look distinct in comparison to the outgoing model. The new Audi Q5 offers some interesting features such heads-up display and the Audi virtual cockpit. The infotainment system of this car comes with an 8.3-inch touchscreen. Also, there is a 12.3-inch screen that comes under the Audi virtual cockpit. The cabin of the new 2018 Audi Q5 features ambient lighting to match the mood of the driver and occupants.

The new 2018 Audi Q5 gets its power from a 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged engine and it is the same motor that used to run the outgoing model. The power and torque outputs of the engine now stand at 190 hp and 400 Nm respectively and hence, the power output sees 8 percent hike when compared to the previous model. This engine is mated to a seven-speed S Tronic transmission system. The mill also gets five driving modes that go by the name Comfort, Dynamic, Individual, Auto and Off-road. The new 2018 Audi Q5 comes with features like Predictive Efficiency Assist, a system that links itself to the navigation set up of the car and adjusts the speed as per the traffic conditions.
The new 2018 Audi Q5 will challenge the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and the recently launched Volvo XC60. The SUV is expected to be priced in the Indian car market at close to Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
