2025 Ather 450 range: More connectivity
The updated Ather 450 range now benefits from new features like the brand’s latest software engine called AtherStack, which comes with a host of amenities such as Google Maps, Alexa, and WhatsApp notifications on the dashboard, allowing riders to access messages without having to take out their smartphones. With “Ping My Scooter”, riders can easily locate their scooters in a sea of vehicles with the help of sound and visual cues.
This feature also enables Live location sharing, allowing riders to share their live location with a preset contact while they’re on the move. That said, most of the notable updates have been reserved for the Ather 450 X and 450 Apex. For instance, both these scooters now get the all-important Magic Twist which made its debut with the Rizta earlier in 2024.
2025 Ather 450 range: Magic Twist throttle
The Magic Twist throttle is designed to enhance rider convenience and control by allowing the rider to modulate vehicle deceleration through throttle alone. The throttle enables the rider to twist to accelerate and twist in the reverse direction to modulate deceleration at all charge levels. This is a modern kind of regenerative braking that can bring the scooter to a complete halt even when the battery is full, unlike the conventional regenerative braking.
2025 Ather 450 range: Traction control & Ride modes
The 2025 Ather 450X and Ather 450 Apex now come equipped with multi-mode traction control that helps enhance rider safety by preventing the scooter from slipping on low-friction surfaces. The traction control system kicks in under slippery conditions to synchronize the rear wheel speed with the front, ensuring better stability.
There are now three ride modes to choose from: Rain, Road and the new Rally Mode. The Rain mode prioritises maximum safety, reducing slip for enhanced grip on wet & slippery surfaces. The Road mode strikes a balance between safety and performance, ideal for everyday riding. The Rally mode is designed for off-road enthusiasts, offering controlled slip of the rear wheel with the traction control off.
2025 Ather 450 range: New tyres, improved range
The 2025 Ather 450 range gets new multi-compound tyres from MRF which along with the Magic Twist throttle that reduces energy loss friction while braking has improved the range offered on all three electric scooters. The updated 450 X now offers a true range of 130 km (IDC range 161 km) with the 3.7 kWh battery and 105 km (IDC range 126 km) with the 2.9 kWh battery on a single charge.
The Ather 450S with the 2.9kWh battery offers a true single-charge range of 105 km (IDC range 122 km). The Ather 450 Apex now claims a real-world range of 130 km (IDC range of 157 km) on a single charge. In addition, the 450 X with the 2.9 kWh battery pack will now be bundled with the Ather Duo wall charger, bringing the charging time from 0-80% to 3 hrs.
2025 Ather 450: Halo & new warranty scheme
Ather’s recently launched smart helmet called Halo will now be offered as standard with the 450 Apex. Moreover, all three battery-powered scooters in the Ather 450 range will now be covered under the new Eight70 warranty which offers coverage for up to 8 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first, and 70% battery health assurance up to 8 years.
