KTM has unveiled the updated ‘Scalpel’, the 790 Duke for the international markets. The new KTM 790 Duke gets a few design tweaks, updated instrumentation, added electronic aids, and more. The KTM 790 Dule retains its overall sharp design and here’s a more detailed look at what’s new on the 2025 KTM 790 Duke.
2025 KTM 790 Duke — What are the changes?
The 2025 790 Duke retains its sharp, sporty street naked design, but the headlight cowl is slightly tweaked to give it a sharper look. It retains the split headlight design with the heat sync in the middle. The other visual update is the colour options — All Black and Black Orange. Needless to say, the 2025 KTM 790 Duke looks sporty in both colour choices.
The next big update is the instrument cluster, which is a larger 5-inch unit now and KTM claims that it’s crisper than before now. That said, it gets a type-C charging port as well, despite the motorcycle having navigation and phone connectivity. KTM has also updated the electronics package now and the motorcycle gets five ride modes: Rain, Street, Sport, Track and Performance.
Electronic nannies include lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, wheelie control, slide control, and more. And in typical KTM fashion and similar to the 890 Adventure R and other motorcycles, the updated 790 Duke comes with a ‘Demo’ mode that allows access to all the electronics for 1500km, post which customers will have to subscribe to what is needed to suit their style of riding.
2025 KTM 790 Duke — What remains unchanged?
Apart from the overall design, the 2025 KTM 790 Duke retains its 799cc parallel twin-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The gearbox gets a bidirectional quickshifter as standard. KTM, having launched the 890 Duke R in India recently, is unlikely to launch the 790 Duke in India anytime soon. The older-gen 790 Dule was on sale in India briefly and now, the company sells the 890 Duke R and the 1390 Super Duke R.
