After much anticipation, Triumph has launched the TF 250-X dirtbike in the UK, the company’s first motocross offering. The motorcycle has been developed and extensively tested in collaboration with big names in the motocross industry like Ricky Carmichael and Ivan Cervantes, and expect Triumph to soon follow up with a 450cc model.

Powering the motorcycle is a 249.95cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-stroke engine. Triumph has not revealed power figures but claims that it has the best power-to-weight ratio, with the new TF 250-X weighing just 103kg. The engine is nestled in an aluminum chassis and the entire motorcycle has been developed ground-up by Triumph.

The Triumph TF 250-X features minimal bodywork, as is the case with all dirtbikes, and features 48mm forks up front, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends, 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, and is finished in Triumph Racing Yellow and Black graphics.

The motorcycle’s throttle mapping can be changed by connecting to the MX Tune Pro smartphone app. In the US, the Triumph TF 250-X is priced at $9,995 (approximately Rs 8.32 lakh), right in the ballpark of its competitors like the Yamaha YZ250F and the KTM 250SX-F.
