April 2025 has been the best ever first month in a financial year for the electric two-wheeler segment. Last month, based on Vahan data, 91,791 electric two-wheelers (E2Ws), including scooters, bikes, and mopeds, were sold in India. This marked a 40% year-on-year growth, exceeding the previous best sales for April, which were in 2023. In a price-sensitive market, we list the top 5 most value-for-money electric scooters under Rs 1 lakh. 

Ola S1 X 2 kWh — Rs 73,999

Ola Electric has a vast range of electric scooters starting from S1 X, which gets a 2 kWh battery pack. It makes 9.3 bhp and accelerates from 0 – 40 kmph in 3.4 seconds. Based on IDC, it has a range of 108 km and a top speed of 101 kmph. It has three ride modes — Sports, Normal and Eco and can charge from 0 – 80% in 4 hours and 50 minutes. 

TVS iQube —Rs 94,434

The iQube entry-level trim is powered by a 2.2 kWh battery that has an output of 5.9 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm. According to the company, it does 0 – 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 75 kmph. Based on IDC range per charge, it offers  94 km. It has a ground clearance of 157 mm and a seat height of 770 mm. It is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display and can charge from 0 – 80% in 2 hours and 45 minutes. 

Ola S1 X 3 kWh — Rs 97,999

The S1 X 3 kWh is a step above the 2 kWh model and churns out 7.3 bhp and does 0 to 40 kmph in 3.1 seconds. It has a top speed of 115 kmph and has three ride modes — Eco, Normal and Sports. It is equipped with a digital key and has a 7-inch touch screen display. 

Bajaj Chetak 2903 — Rs 98,498

The Bajaj Chetak 2903 comes with a 2.9 kWh battery with an output of 5.3 bhp. The electric scooter returns a range of 123 km and charges from 0 – 80% in 4 hours. It has features like hill hold, two ride modes — Eco, Sport, a coloured LCD digital cluster, Bluetooth connectivity to receive calls, notifications, and play music and a boot space of 211 litres. 

Hero Vida V2 Lite — Rs 74,000

The Hero Vida 2 Lite is the only electric scooter that comes with a 2.2 kWh removable battery and an IDC range of 94 km. It does 0 – 40 kmph in 4.2 kmph and has a top speed of 69 kmph. It is equipped with a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster and two ride modes — Eco and Sport. It offers a 26 litre boot space.
