Most OEMs will be increasing prices of two-wheelers from January 2024, although the price hike isn’t expected to affect sales figures.

The Indian market witnessed a total sales of 16,23,399 two wheelers in November this year. During the same period last year, a total of 12,36,281 two wheelers were dispatched across the country. This resulted in a YoY growth of 31.3%. Let us look at the top 10 motorcycles sold across the country last month.

Top 10 motorcycles Nov 2023: Splendor, Shine take top spots

Entry-level motorcycles like Hero Splendor and Honda Shine grabbed the top spots with respective sales figures of 2,50,786 units and 1,55,943 units sold in November this year. Both motorcycles are available in 100cc and 125cc iterations. While Splendor witnessed a YoY decline of 5.57%, sales of Shine increased by 35.46%.

Motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar, Hero HF Deluxe, and Bajaj Platina took the third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively. Interestingly, all three bikes registered a similar YoY growth of around 79-80%. While Pulsar recorded a monthly sales volume of 1,30,403 units, Hero dispatched 1,16,421 units of HF Deluxe to dealerships last month.

During the same period, Bajaj sold 60,607 units of Platina. It is available in both 100cc and 110cc iterations. Similarly, the Pulsar brand is home to almost a dozen models. The HF Deluxe is available as a 100cc bike only.

Like Pulsar, its arch nemesis TVS Apache is available in multiple models. The Hosur-based manufacturer sold 41,025 units of Apache motorcycles in November this year. This resulted in 51.26% YoY growth. Apache was followed by another TVS in the form of Raider which registered a volume of 39,929 units last month. The 125cc sporty commuter recorded a monthly volume of 47.53%.

Hero dispatched 34,750 units of Passion last month which recorded a massive 1168% YoY growth. A part of this reason is that during the same period last year, Hero was only selling the 110cc Passion Xtec. Earlier this year, the homegrown bikemaker brought back the old 100cc Passion Plus back to the market.

Royal Enfield sold 30,624 units of its best-seller— Classic 350– last month, thus occupying the ninth spot in November this year. The tenth spot was taken by Hero Glamor which recorded a monthly volume of 20,926 units. Glamor is available in both the standard and XTec form.
