Top 10 best-selling two-wheelers in August 2023 — Bajaj, Honda post negative sales

As another month passes in 2023, two-wheeler makers have seen mixed sales numbers as Honda and Bajaj have registered negative YoY growth with their popular models. However, with new product launches and the festive season in sight, two-wheeler sales will witness growth.

September saw multiple new two-wheeler launches, both in the performance and commuter segments, eyeing the festive season as the motivating factor for customers to buy new vehicles. However, let’s take a look at two-wheeler sales in September 2023 and the YoY growth for the top 10 selling two-wheelers.

Top 10 selling two-wheelers in August 2023

Leading sales is the Hero Splendor, a motorcycle that has been in the market for many years now. Its simplicity has struck the right chords in terms of sales, and in August 2023, Hero sold 2,89,930 units, registering a YoY growth of 1.37 percent.

Honda takes the second and third position with Activa and Shine, which have registered sales of 2,14,872 units and 1,48,712 units respectively. The Honda Activa has seen a YoY decline of 2.8 percent while the Shine saw a 23.7 percent growth.

The Bajaj Pulsar and Hero HF Deluxe take the next two places, selling 90,685 units and 73,006 units. The Pulsar saw a negative YoY growth of 6.6 percent, and the newly launched N150 is expected to drive more sales for Bajaj.

The sixth and seventh places are taken up by two popular scooters, the TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access. The companies registered sales of 70,065 units and 53,651 units respectively, while the Jupiter saw a marginal YoY decline compared to the Access’ 32.8 percent growth.

The TVS Raider, Bajaj Platina and Hero Passion round up the top 10 list, having sold 42,375 units, 40,693 units, and 38,043 units respectively. The TVS Raider registered the highest growth on the list of over 100 percent while the Bajaj Platina saw the biggest decline at 59.3 percent.
